Reigate Youth U11 Lynxes 1 – 3 Walton Casuals Juniors U11 Lions

Team: Harrison, Lewis, Zac, Josh, Hayden, Ollie, Tom, Charlie, George, Alex.

A first win of the season for the U11 Lions came with a superb team performance away at a well organised Reigate side. Casuals took an early lead when Ollie slotted in at the far post after some great passing down the right. The Lions continued to press, with both Tom and George going close with thunderous strikes, and the midfield winning almost every tackle. The second goal came after some prolonged Lions pressure, Alex firing home with the aid of a deflection from a Reigate defender. 2-0 to Casuals at half time.

The second half started in much the same vein, with Lewis getting the ball in the back of the net shortly after the restart, only to see it ruled out for offside. With Hayden marshalling the defence at the back, the Lions continued to press and added a deserved third midway through the half when Charlie skipped through a couple of tackles and rifled home. The lack of substitutes started to show towards the end of the game as tiredness took hold and Reigate started to come back into the match, scoring a well worked goal after a nice passing move, and being prevented from scoring a second by a truly magnificent save from stand in keeper Tom.

All in all a great team performance and a great confidence boost as we move on to our next home game, aiming to get our first win at the new Hub.

Man of the match went to George for a battling display at the back.
