Panthers win comfortably, and would have been a cricket score but for some excellent goal keeping from Carshalton. On a sunny morning, Panthers took on what looked on paper to be a strong Carshalton team in the next round of the SYL Cup.

Panthers lost the toss and kicked off facing the sun. The first 5 minutes was pretty even without either Keeper being tested, although Will went close with a long range effort.

William had carried on from where he left off last week and was terrorising his opposing LB, but 3 one on ones with the keeper did not yield the goal his play deserved with the Carshalton GK making some fine saves. Perhaps in hindsight he could have played in Zeno on a couple of occasions.

Panthers had won a couple of corners but despite the aerial presence we have we failed to take advantage. However, on 22 minutes Panthers drew level when a typically accurate delivery from William had Devon win the header, and despite the Carshalton defence clearing it off the line, Tate was there to prod the ball over the line. 1-1

Panthers were now controlling play, with Carshalton relying on long balls up to their strikers.

The passing was starting now, and when Panthers won another free kick, a ball over from the right to Devon resulted in him intelligently pulling it back for Joe outside the box, who curled a delicious shot into the top left corner to give Panthers the lead.
