The football played from Panthers was not the slick passing that you would expect, but physicality won them the match.
A goal from Devon after 4 minutes gave the Panthers the lead and then a brace from William extended the lead to 3-0 12 minutes into the game.
However, rather than this being the springboard for a comfortable win, Panthers actually became pretty complacent and a messy first half continued to the half time whistle
HALF TIME: Panthers 3 – 0 Sandgate
The second half started briskly and soon Panthers added a 4th goal with William setting up Ryan for a tap in
Sandgate then went route one to get back into the game and it succeeded to dramatic effect. With the Panthers holding a very high defensive line, a ball over the top saw a straight race between their pacey striker and our back 3, and THREE times in a row it benefited Sandgate to see them peg Panthers back to 4-3!
With Panthers players falling through various injuries, Joe, Will and Zeno had to be withdrawn.
Fortunately the game was put to bed with a through ball from Omar allowing Ryan to run through and get his second of the game to seal a 5-3 win for the Panthers
FULL TIME: Panthers 5 – 3 Sandgate
Man of the Match award was a difficult one as nobody had their best game, but for his constant running and intelligent passes, Jake B wins it this week
