Bears turn up at the hub for their 2nd home game in succession against the team who pipped the Bears to the league title last year, and who beat us both home and away. Could the Bears get revenge?
As we took to the pitch their was a sense of nervousness about the Bears and Dara capitalised on this by starting quickly. 8 mins after Dara took the lead our leading goal scorer done what he does best after some excellent work in midfield by our skipper Jason Aherne, who finds Josh Buxton in space with a pass and he makes no mistake at getting the Bears back in the game 1-1.
Then in the 12th minute our brute of a Centre Forward Joshua Fahey latched on to a Josh Buxton pass and slotted it past the keeper to make it 2-1 BEARS.
2nd half kicks off and the Bears start slowly again as Dara come out all guns blazing and find an equaliser with another 25 yard freekick in the 42nd minute. 2-2
So again after some encouragement and demands from the bench the Bears retake control and in the 52nd minute big Joshua Fahey find stage net for his 2nd goal of the game after some good work down the left wing from Josh Buxton 3-2 BEARS.
5 minutes later Josh Buxton is on the scoresheet for his 2nd of the game as Daniel Johnson works his magic in the centre of midfield and plays a sublime 25 yard pass into the path of Josh Buxton. Smashed home 4-2 BEARS
Then it was only 3 minutes until the Bears scored again this time Daniel Johnson wins the ball back high up the pitch and unleashes a curling shot from 30yards that lofts over the Dara keeper 5-2 BEARS.
The substitutions didn’t seem to harm the flow of the Bears game as 4 minutes later we added to score again as Josh Buxton gets his hat trick via a tap in following a mazy run from inside his own half by Daniel Johnson whereby he beat 8 players before shooting causing the Dara keeper to make an excellent save but the ball falls to Josh Buxton who scores 6-2 BEARS
A very solid performance from the Bears against a team who done the double over us last season. We weren’t at our full flowing best but we dug deep and outplayed our opposition to secure a comfortable victory.
Excellent performance. However no time for complacency as we have a very tough match next week away against the free scoring Monotype Juniors.
