Louise McGlennan, of the U15 Angels, has written herself into the Walton Casuals Juniors’ record books by smashing a long standing record for scoring in consecutive competitive matches. The original record stood at six games on the trot and was set by Alexandra Popper, who now plays for QPR FC.
Louise broke the record on the 26th November in an away game at Fleet Town Girls & Ladies FC scoring twice (in a 5-2 victory) and for the seventh game in a row. Her scoring didn’t stop there though and a week later she scored twice more, at home, and against Colne Valley FC to register in her eighth (!) competitive match in succession.
Louise has been typically modest about her achievement, and has stated that without her team she would never have achieved this notable landmark.
Her Manager, Frank Scannella, added that: ‘Louise is a wonderful player, who always works hard and gives 100% both in matches and training. She has enormous ability and a lovely character to go with it.’
